Getting through the Pandemic with Love and Laughter featuring Meghan Leahy

Critical Topics in Parenting

This is the fifth webinar in this year’s free series, Critical Topics in Parenting, designed to address the most pressing issues facing families and children today.

For all parents and caregivers
Join us for a conversation with Washington Post's On Parenting columnist Meghan Leahy, on parenting advice we all relied on during the pandemic: Stay connected to your children.

How we connect to our children is even more important during a pandemic because it calls us to simplify and focus on what is most important: the relationship. We don’t need to get lost in perfectionism or a million strategies and, as our world changes under our feet, we can trust this relationship to provide stability and ease.

Learn:

  • How parents can facilitate greater ease, cooperation, and joy through connection.
  • How the common strategies of punishment and praise don't work...and why.
  • Specific ways to connect with your children: what to say and do.
Meghan knows that laughter helps us find new perspectives to see the glass half-full when we convince ourselves that it’s half-empty.

We look forward to sharing an evening of parenting inspiration, laughter, and encouragement with all of you.

"... approaching this subject was a great balance of both concern and lightness, the instructor also brought a realistic approach to the topic, (i.e., yes, we're going to have meltdowns and, we're working to reduce them.)"
