Nurturing the Nurturers: Prioritizing Parent Well-Being for Stronger Families
Parents and caregivers need care, too.
--U.S. Surgeon General’s Advisory on the Mental Health and Well-Being of Parents
The critical link between parental well-being and child outcomes is more relevant than ever.
While parents have had to deal with stressors and challenges for generations, today’s parents are more isolated, without the benefit of important support networks.
PEP believes, and the research shows, that there is a strong return to society when we invest in strengthening parenting and the family environment, which are key determinants in the healthy mental, emotional, and social development of children.
- Reflect on the current state of parenting and the pressure to perform
- Connect with each other to know that we’re not alone in our parenting journeys
- Share insights to see challenges through a more can-do lens
- Build confidence in our own parenting abilities

Your Instructor
PEP Parent Educators are first and foremost parents just like you. They started in PEP classes, looking for answers to their parenting questions. They found the PEP approach so helpful in their families that they trained to become a PEP parent educator. Your PEP Parent Educators have spent hundreds (and in some cases, thousands) of hours in classes and training sessions as well as in on-the-job training in order to gain the skills to be working with you today.
"I enjoyed the program. I really liked hearing the strategies and then a real life scenario that actually pertained to me and how to step-by-step use the strategy to solve the problem."

"I liked it! It's not always easy to attend classes in-person, so the online class is very convenient and conducive for both parents to participate."
