Living with Grief – Understanding and Supporting Grieving Children
Critical Topics in Parenting
Join us Friday January 21, at 8 pm ET for the sixth webinar in this free series, Critical Topics in Parenting, designed to address the most pressing issues facing families and children today. All parents are welcome.
Grief and trauma deeply affect children and families. The events of 2020 brought grief to the forefront of people’s lives. In this moment, parents are called on to understand better how it shapes our – and our children's – lives.
The distress sparked by the pandemic and racial reckoning in the US has required children to face many kinds of loss: social interaction with peers and family; rituals that celebrate accomplishments and connection with others; instability in the family from economic or immigration uncertainty; and sickness or death of loved ones.
Join Dr. Ajita Robinson, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Trauma and Grief Expert, who will share research-based and practical guidance from her counseling practice and personal experience to help parents:
- understand primary and secondary losses
- learn how grief is unique for children
- identify how a child’s developmental stage impacts the manifestation of grief
- learn practical tips to support grieving children
Dr. Robinson will answer your questions and engage us in thoughtful discussion.
Registration includes access to a recording to watch later and any handouts provided by Dr. Robinson.
